The complete 1911 census of Ireland is currently available online at www.census.nationalarchives.ie/ From this website, all the original census return forms (which were filled out by the head of each household on the census night) can be viewed. Additionally, all the information within the census return forms has been digitised and placed into a searchable on-line database.



Papers Past (at paperspast.natlib.govt.nz/cgi-bin/paperspast) contains a large number of digitised New Zealand newspapers and periodicals from the years 1839 to 1932. These newspapers contain a large amount of Irish local news. Give a search for your local town or village at the link above, and you might be surprised in what you find.



If you are tracing your Cork ancestors, Mallow Heritage Center site at www.mallowheritagecentre.com/ is well worth a visit. They have a large number of birth, marriage and death records for Cork, which can be searched online.



Both The Ship's List and Ellis Island are very interesting websites if you are tracking your ancestors who emigrated to the US. Again, they have a large number of records, which can be searched online.
