Census Return Forms Of Interest
Below is the census return form from Rev. Edmond MacCarthy who was the Curate in Kilbrin from 1907 to 1919.

Also shown below, is the census return from the R.I.C. Barrack in Kilbrin, which included one Sergeant and three Constables. As per the Census instructions, only the initials of the first name(s) and surname were entered in this form. However, in the corresponding 'House And Building Return' census form, the head of the family was given as a George J. Armstrong, which corresponds to the G.J.A. initials below. Additionally, the majority of the enumerator signatures on the returned census forms from Kilbrin parish, were signed by either a 'Constable John Hourihane' or a 'Constable Thomas F. Cully'. These names would correspond with the initials given in entries 2 & 3 in the form below (J.H. and T.F.C). Francis Baker is specified as being the landholder in the 'House And Building Return' census form.

The 'House And Building Return' census form below includes details on Castlecor House (first entry on the census form), which was occupied at that time by a William Barry. The house is listed as having a total of 36 rooms, with 22 windows at the front of the house. The property also included 16 out-offices / farm-steadings. Of the fourteen houses that were situated in the Castlecor Demense townland, William Barry is listed as being the landholder.

Entry number 8 on the 'House And Building Return' census form below relates to Curraghs National school. The school house is stated as having a single room, which is occupied by a 'Kathleen Walshe'. The landholder on where the school is built is a 'Timothy O'Connor'. The second form below contains the census details for Kathleen Walshe, who was 26 years old Roman Catholic and a school teacher by profession.
